A New City Within a City

Main Content Inline Small

The City of Portsmouth is growing. At the recent Portsmouth State of the City presentation, Mayor James Holley, Mr. Robert T. Williams of Tri-City Developers and Mr. Linwood Howard , Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bon Secours Maryview, announced future development plans for a major mixed-use development project.  This project will be an estimated $300 million development to include the expansion of Bon Secours Maryview Hospital. The hospital expansion will allow for improved medical offices for doctors, a cancer treatment center and an increase in hospital services provided. An estimated $220 million of the project will go towards a private investment project on the former Hunt Mapp Middle School site with Armada Hoffler. The mixed-use development will include retail, residential and entertainment.

It is Time to Take Inventory

If we don't know about it, we can't sell it. The Department of Economic Development is conducting a comprehensive update of its properties database. Our office uses this information to meet the needs of our clients.   Additionally, the database is accessible from our web site allowing prospects and the general public to conduct their own searches (see link below).  As part of our thorough update, we are utilizing the resources of temporary staff. We will be contacting as many brokers as we can identify to solicit their listings. This is a fairly painless process, but does require us to get comprehensive information about the property. If you have updates on older properties, new commercial and industrial listings, are afraid we won't call you, or just didn't know we offered this free service, please contact us at 393-8804. We do post the contact information for the owner or listing agent if desired so this is not an exclusive process and it does not constitute us being a listing agent. Commercial, mixed-use or industrial properties and/or buildings only and none in other Cities (sorry).   http://www.portsmouthvaed.com/business_ctr_properties.html.
